Window Shades can allow a diffused, filtered, natural light through, even when closed. Visually transparent Window Shades preserve your view and reducing glare, while providing protection from heat and UV radiation of direct sun light. Window Shades also offer great versatility with Bottom-UP/Top-Down operation allowing you the ability to open the view out the top of your window, while still providing privacy below. Motorized Shades can be integrated with Smart Home Control Systems such as lighting, alarms and sensors, or a hand held remote control. |

Would honeycomb or blackout shades be better fro a window facing South? Honeycomb and the blackout cells compare fairly closely in insulation properties The Triad will definitely let in light.
What is Cordless Lift or Loop Control Lift? Roller Shades with standard cordless lift will raise with a tug. Features a slow rise system for smooth, controlled operation - no quick snapping up to the top like those from the past. The installation instructions can be found under installation tips on the Roller Shade page. The cordless shades are mounted on a bracket rail so the hardware will be behind the shades, not in between. You could mount them as close as 1/8" apart - just to allow smooth operation. Keep in mind, the fabric will have up to 1" deduction from your ordered width (1/2" on each side), so you may have up to 1" of space between the shades that is uncovered.
Do all shades go Up and Down? Up and Down is an upgrade referred to as Top Down/Bottom Up. This way you can raise the shade from the bottom as well as lower it from the top. This is available in a variety of shades from Roman Shades to Honeycomb Shades and Blackout Shades, but not in Roller Shades.
Privacy - I have Street level windows and want block the view but not the light? Top Down/Bottom Up Shades in a sheer fabric are an excellent choice in this situation, allowing you to block the view from either the waste down or eye level. Whatever makes you feel comfortable, or close them entirely.
Honeycomb and Pleated, What’s the Difference? Honeycomb Shades and Pleated Shades appear very similar yet are quite different structurally. The Honeycomb Shade is made up of multiple layers of material joined together every half inch or so. When you look at if from the end you see channels or tunnels running the length the shade. These channels are air spaces and give the Honeycomb Shades a better insulating value or R Value. Pleated Shade are only a single layer of material and from the side look like a single sheet folded back and forth in a zig-zag pattern. Although Pleated Shades do not have the insulation value of the Honeycomb Shades they have a similar ‘look and feel’ at a lower price. |
